Men Are He, Girls are She: Education Dept.
The Trump Administration this week rolled back a Biden-era education policy which told educators that “refusal to use a person’s preferred name and pronouns — or repeatedly misusing them — could constitute harassment,” according to KGET local news.
“The Trump Administration is removing the unnecessary and unlawful burdens that prior Administrations imposed on schools in its relentless pursuit of a radical transgender agenda,” the department wrote in a release.
“While previous Administrations launched Title IX investigations based on ‘misgendering,’ the Trump Administration is investigating allegations of girls and women being injured by men on their sports team or feeling violated by men in their intimate spaces.”
The Biden-enacted agreement from 2023 put pressure on various school districts and community colleges — such as Taft College in rural California — to call students by their “preferred pronouns.”
Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights Kimberly Richey said, “Today is yet another demonstration of the Trump Administration’s commitment to uphold the law, protect our students, and restore common sense. No longer will the federal government force educational institutions to violate the law or punish them for upholding it.”

The department rescinded portions of six resolutions that were reached “through the illegal, heavy-handed manipulation of Title IX,” it stated.
The resolution tied to Taft was spurred from a student complaint that accused professors of misgendering her.
“Allegations of harassment included a professor allegedly saying in front of her whole class the professor didn’t consider her ‘feminine enough’ based on her ‘physical appearance, and an administrator of the student’s college program knowingly excluding her when calling other female students in class ‘ladies,’” KGET reported.
Under the agreement, Taft was to allocate up to $5,000 of reimbursements toward counseling or therapy services for the student.
