Fox Radio’s Starnes: FBI Text Messages Smear Conservatives as “Hillbillies”

Fox Radio host Todd Starnes had many questions during his opening monologue Wednesday regarding the actions of former President Barack Obama and his connections and influence of FBI and Justice Department investigations of Hillary Clinton’s private email server.

“It’s looking very clear to me, that President Obama knew what was going on,” Starnes said.

Citing a report from FoxNews.com, Starnes said that disgraced FBI investigator Peter Strzok and his “paramour,” Lisa Page, also an FBI agent, exchanged text messages that included one message from Page to Strzok in September 2016 that said “POTUS wants to know everything.”

Reminding his listeners that the 44th president of the United States had a history of using the apparatus of government as a political weapon, Starnes said that “the Obama administration weaponized the Internal Revenue Service…they targeted the Christian groups, they targeted the tea party groups, they targeted anyone who was against gay marriage, they targeted the pro-lifers, even told a church in Wyoming they had to turn over their church membership rolls to the government.”

The nationally syndicated talk show host pointed to a “mountain of evidence” that “lends credibility to this idea that the Obama administration also weaponized the FBI and the Justice Department, with the sole intent of taking down their political enemies, and quite frankly, exonerating Hillary Clinton.”

Starnes played a clip from an interview of President Obama from April 2016 with Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace in which the president said “I guarantee that there is no political influence in any investigation conducted by the Justice Department or the FBI.” In the same clip, the president said he had a “strict line” and that it was “always maintained.”

“What happened between April and September,” Starnes asked. “That the president demanded to know what was happening in that investigation.” Warning his listeners that we were “heading into a very dangerous place,” Starnes mentioned that twice in the last month, conservative commentator Monica Crowley had warned his listeners that we could be headed for a “constitutional crisis involving the previous administration, and the current administration.”

The new text messages also revealed nasty remarks about “ignorant hillbillies” in Virginia. In previous messages the love birds ridiculed the so-called Deplorables, Duck Dynasty and Trump supporters shopping at Walmart.

Wrapping up his monologue, Starnes told his listeners that the liberal politicians like Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer held them in contempt saying “the Democrats hold you, the Deplorables, the gun-toting, Bible-clingers, they hold you guys in contempt.”
