“We are dealing with the carnage of the country,” Phil said on the Todd Starnes Show. You can watch the interview above.
Robertson recounted the story of his namesake – his uncle Phil Shores.
“He joined the Marine Corps in World War II – took five steps off a landing craft, 17-years-old and died,” Robertson said. “I’m named after him. When someone says, ‘Do you respect the flag?’ I say, my uncle – 17-years-old – just a kid – died for all of us and you’re telling me I’m not going to stand when I see the flag of the United States flying? Are you crazy?”
Robertson said the disrespect for American traditions is a direct result of parents not properly training their children.
“Take the Scripture and train your children,” Phil told the Todd Starnes Show.
“We are seeing the result – when children are not trained,” he said. “All Scripture is God-breathed. It’s useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. While you’re at it you teach them biblical principles that overlap with governmental patriotism.”
Feel free to shout, “Amen” or “Happy, Happy, Happy.”
“You teach them to respect their elders, law enforcement, their teachers, their country, their citizenship. You honor the flag. You honor the Star-Spangled Banner,” he said.
Phil is promoting his new CRTV digital program, “In the Woods With Phil” – dishing out down-home, God-inspired commonsense. Click here for more information.
