Popular radio host, columnist and author Todd Starnes says America is a Christian nation the radical left wants to tear down and rebuild. Starnes offers shocking examples in his much-anticipated new book “Culture Jihad: How to Stop the Left from Killing a Nation.”
“We have people that are not even allowed to practice their faith in some cities because of laws established by Democrats,” Starnes told TBN’s “Huckabee” program. “California is a great example of that, where they’re literally coming after churches, pastors, and people of faith”.
One story in “Culture Jihad” involves a Catholic farmer in Michigan who was told he would no longer be able to sell produce at the farmers’ market. The reason? Because he refused to allow certain marriages on the family farm.
“It goes far beyond that,” Starnes added. “There are attacks on books like “To Kill a Mockingbird” and “Little House On The Prairie,” and there is a war raging right now in San Francisco where people want to paint over a mural of George Washington because now George Washington is considered offensive and inappropriate for this day and age.”
Even country music is not safe.
“The country music industry is actually swinging towards the left and I provide a lot of examples for that,” said Starnes, an award-winning author of five books. “I discovered in my studies of what was happening here in the southern states that liberalism is a lot like kudzu. Once it starts growing and once it takes root, it kills everything it touches, much like liberalism.”
Why, though? Why all these attacks?
“The answer is socialism,” replied Starnes. “Socialism can’t take root if we are a people that base our nation on Judeo-Christian teachings, and they cannot take over if just about every citizen is holding a firearm.”
Starnes said it was Barack Obama who said he wanted to fundamentally transform America.
“He delivered on that promise,” Starnes continued. “Thank God for Donald Trump, because he’s been able to reverse a lot of those changes.”
