Kentucky Governor Orders Police to Record License Plates of Easter Sunday Churchgoers

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear has ordered police to record license plates of anyone who attends an Easter Sunday service in the Commonwealth. Worshippers will then be required to quarantine in their homes for 14 days.

“Any individual that’s going to participate in a mass gathering of any type that we know about this weekend – we are going to record license plates, provide it to local health departments – health departments are going to come to your door and with an order for you to be quarantined for 14 days,” the governor said.

On a side note, I predicted that godless heathen Democrats would eventually pull a stunt like this in my new book, “Culture Jihad: How to Stop the Left From Killing a Nation.”

Beshear, who is a Democrat, said that anyone who attends a weekend Easter service is putting lives in danger.

“We shouldn’t have to do this,” he said of the quarantine orders. “What we are asking you to do is not to harm other people, to love your neighbor as yourself.”

Meanwhile, Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer, also a Democrat, has already followed through on the orders.

“I have asked LMPD to record license plates of all vehicles in attendance. We will share that information with our public health department, so they can follow up with the individuals that are out in church and gathering in groups, which is clearly a very, very unsafe practice,” the mayor said during a Friday press briefing.

The mayor said worshippers will not be arrested but police officers will be on hand to distribute information about the health risks involved in attending a “drive-in” church service.

“It hurts me to say again that, in order to save lives, we must not gather for Easter this year,” Fischer said. “Not in groups in our homes. Not in public spaces. And we can’t gather in our houses of worship, either.”

However, liquor stores and abortion clinics remain open for business across the Bluegrass State.

“Let me be clear, my church will have no “drive in” service. That is not the point,” said Southern Baptist Theological Seminary president Albert Mohler wrote on Twitter. “But this city allows ‘drive thru’ liquor sales, and this is not the Soviet Union nor China under the PRC. This is far beyond a general ban on all in person assemblies.”

Folks, I tried to warn religious leaders that this was going to happen. If you give an inch the godless leftists will shut down your churches, threaten to arrest your preachers, and quarantine your congregation.
