A small Texas town took Christ out of Christmas and replaced the newborn king with a bunch of drag queens.
For years the Taylor Area Ministerial Alliance was responsible for organizing the annual Christmas parade. But controversy arose when LGBTQ activists demanded to be allowed to participate.
In 2021 instead of giving attention to Jesus Christ on their float, the activists added drag queens and glorified themselves and sexualized the parade in front of hundreds of families with children, the Christian ministers alleged.
Last year, the controversy became so great that town leaders decided to host a second parade — which then erupted into a national culture war. Click here for my coverage of the incident.
So, in 2023 city council leaders voted overwhelmingly to create a new “event ordinance” that would effectively ban the churches from being a part of future community events.
“This new ordinance, according to Texas Values group, is legally the same Democrat Party ordinance large cities like Houston and Austin use that were heavily influenced by Secularism, Woke, and LGBTQ,” the ministers wrote in a lengthy statement on the controversy.
Long story short, the Christians were effectively told to shut up and mind their own business.
The TAMA described the aftermath in a letter that was posted on social media just before this year’s parade.
As most know, Taylor city leaders sided with just a few LGBTQ activists and voted 4 to 1 in favor of a new ordinance that allows sexualized LGBTQ Drag Queens, Satanists, and any anti-Christ group to participate in the Christmas Parade. Four of these politicians showed absolute disregard for our concerns, hijacked the parade from TAMA and the religious community, and have implemented the process of secularizing and disgracing the Lord Jesus Christ. What was for decades a fantastic unifying family event for the entire community to celebrate, the Lord’s Birthday, has been divided and destroyed by these four men and their love for Woke popularity.

“We will definitely not handle, taste, touch, or have anything to do with this festival,” the ministers wrote in a statement.
The pastors in Taylor should be commended for standing their ground and not surrendering their churches to the rainbow agenda. Jesus is the Reason for the Season, not a bunch of drag queens wearing gay apparel.
