Last year President Biden declared that Easter Sunday would be a day to celebrate Transgender people. That decision caused great frustration among the nation’s Christians. But that was last year. And this year there is a President in the White House who loves God.
President Trump issued a Holy Week message that clearly laid out the reason Christians are celebrating this most holy of holidays.
“I haven’t heard the president in my lifetime talk like this, Franklin Graham said on my podcast. “He has preached an Easter message in this proclamation that’s more clear than many pastors preach from the pulpit.”
Watch Christians sing “Amazing Grace” in the White House:
The president wrote that Easter is about the crucifixion and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ – the living Son of God, who conquered death, freed us from sin and unlocked the gates of Heaven for all of humanity.
“Through His suffering, we have redemption,” the president wrote. “Through His death, we are forgiven of our sins. Through His Resurrection, we have hope of eternal life. On Easter morning, the stone is rolled away, the tomb is empty, and light prevails over darkness—signaling that death does not have the final word.”
Trump’s remarks are a pleasant change from the days of former President Barack Obama, who somehow managed to turn every Christian holiday into a commentary about Islam.
“As we focus on Christ’s redeeming sacrifice, we look to His love, humility, and obedience—even in life’s most difficult and uncertain moments.” the president said. “This week, we pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon our beloved Nation. We pray that America will remain a beacon of faith, hope, and freedom for the entire world, and we pray to achieve a future that reflects the truth, beauty, and goodness of Christ’s eternal kingdom in Heaven.”
The president also affirmed that his administration would go above and beyond to protect Christians from those who would persecute us on American soil.
“This Holy Week, my Administration renews its promise to defend the Christian faith in our schools, military, workplaces, hospitals, and halls of government, the president wrote. We will never waver in safeguarding the right to religious liberty, upholding the dignity of life, and protecting God in our public square.”
Former President Biden invited topless transgender activists to frolic on the White House lawn during Easter. But President Trump invited Christians to worship Jesus.
Praise God that we have a Commander-in-Chief who worships the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
