WATCH: Kentucky State Police Target Easter Sunday Service; Worshipers Under Mandatory 14-Day Quarantine

Kentucky State Police raided the Maryville Baptist Church parking lot in Hillview as worshipers gathered in-person for Easter Sunday services.

I warned that Americans would face such Gestapo-like tactics in my new book, “Culture Jihad: How to Stop the Left From Killing a Nation.”

No one was arrested, but officers reportedly recorded license plates and placed warning placards on cars. Some church members covered their license plates in protest.

“I don’t know whether they took our license plates or not; it don’t really matter,” the Rev. Jack Roberts said during Sunday’s service. “Church, I’ll just tell you something: If you get a ticket, if you get a ticket for being in church this morning, bring it to me; my lawyer said he’ll take care of it. It’s garbage; it’s just garbage. I took a picture of my license plate on the back of my car and sent it to the governor yesterday. I just said, ‘Save yourself a trip, right here it is. Ain’t no need in coming out.'”

Gov. Andy Beshear, a Democrat, had ordered state police to target any church that was hosting an Easter Sunday service – in defiance of his command. He specifically told officers to record the license plates of attendees.

Anyone attending the worship service must be quarantined for at least 14 days under orders of the governor. Anyone who violates the quarantine could be subjected to criminal penalties.

“It goes against my first and second constitutional rights, then I’m not abiding by that. At the same time I am going to practice social discussing as they have already suggested,” churchgoer Bevelyn Beatty told television station WAVE. “We have been backwards following rules and they’re not gonna make me stay at my house for 14 days.”
