The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) edited a quote Saturday intended to honor the legacy of the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
The liberal non-profit edited out “woman,” “she,” and “her,” with “person” and “their,” all in the name of “abortion and gender equality.”
The backlash against the ACLU was swift and from both sides of the aisle.
“The ACLU literally erasing women,” Greg Scott, senior vice president of communications at Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), tweeted.
“She would turn in her grave to see you erasing the women whose oppression she fought all her Life,” one person said.
“Apparently, you don’t miss her enough to quote her accurately,” @Tobydad tweeted.
