ABC’s late-night host Jimmy Kimmel praised President Biden then took a racist swipe at Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) for his GOP response.
Kimmel said, “An amazing thing happened after the speech. Every black Republican Senator got together to let the American people know the Republican Party isn’t racist.”
The “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” host added, “And then Tim promptly returned to the sensory deprivation egg he calls home.”
Many online pointed out Kimmel apologized in 2020 for doing blackface, saying he has since “evolved and matured,” but mocking Scott’s skin color seems to say otherwise.
Others on the Left also piled on with racist attacks on Scott. Twitter took 11 hours to remove “Uncle Tim” from trending after Scott’s speech.
Scott, in a tweet Friday, said, “No amount of backward bigotry will shake my faith in the goodness of America.”
He added, “I meant what I said on Wednesday night, and I’m glad Joe Biden and Kamala Harris agreed with me: America is not a racist country.”
NewsBusters editor Brent Baker, who shared video of Kimmel, pointed out there are only two black Democrat Senators.
