Disgraced Ex-Biden Official Won’t Face Jail Time Over Luggage Theft

Former Biden administration official Sam Brinton, who identifies as “non-binary,” will not be facing jail time after stealing a woman’s luggage at the Harry Reid International Airport last year.

Instead, Brinton has been ordered to pay the victim $3,760 in restitution.

Las Vegas prosecutors charged the former government official with grand larceny in December.

After pleading “no contest” to the charges, Brinton escaped serving jail time. However, he will face a 180-day suspended sentence according to court documents.

Additionally, Brinton’s crime was lowered from a felony to a misdemeanor as a result of the plea deal.

Should the Ex-Biden Official have faced jail time for stealing luggage?

Brinton was formerly responsible for nuclear fuel and radioactive waste during his time in the Biden Administration.

The Nevada judge who made the ruling instructed the ex-Biden official to avoid engaging in any further criminal activity, according to court documents.

Many Twitter users have reacted to the guilty verdict, calling it a “slap on the wrist,” compared to others who have faced harsher punishments for less.

Some said the ruling is evidence of a “two-tiered justice system.”

Brinton still faces other felonies in relation to similar incidents in Minnesota and Washington DC.
