Fox News Channel has parted ways with one of its most popular contributors.
Lara Trump will no longer be a paid contributor for the cable news network.
“We appreciate Lara’s valuable contributions across Fox News Media programming,” a Fox News Media representative said in a statement to the Los Angeles Times.
She has not appeared on the network since the week of her father-in-law’s announcement that he would be running for the presidency.
Fox News has long maintained a policy that prohibits people from being contributors when they announce a campaign for public office.
“In this case, since Donald Trump has announced his intention to run once again for president, the network’s rules bar Lara Trump from being paid for her commentary,” Variety reported.
Her departure comes amid reports that Rupert Murdoch’s massive media empire has turned against former President Trump.
The editorial pages of the New York Post and Wall Street Journal have been ruthless in their coverage.
The Guardian reported that Lachlan Murdoch has told Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis that the media group would back him if he ran against Trump in 2024.
