DEVELOPING STORY: Is Fox News Channel about to dump Laura Ingraham? Social media is abuzz with rumors that Ingraham may be out in reports that suggest a major primetime shakeup is about to happen.
Drudge Report first broke the news about the conservative network’s chaos — announcing in dramatic fashion that Sean Hannity would be replacing Tucker Carlson and Greg Gutfeld and Jesse Watters would be given primetime slots.
“FOXNEWS is preparing to announce an ambitious new schedule, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned, a schedule where ever hour of primetime will change!” Drudge reported. “TOP SOURCE TELLS DRUDGE: ‘IT’S OUR BOLDEST AND MOST FEARLESS LINE-UP EVER’…”
A Fox News spokesperson told Mediaite, “No decision has been made on a new primetime line-up and there are multiple scenarios under consideration.”
Ingraham’s name was trending on Twitter for much of the day as the rumor mill went into overdrive alleging she had been fired from the network.
A network spokesperson told Deadline, “Reports based on various tweets by left wing activists are wildly inaccurate — Laura Ingraham, the top-rated woman in cable news, is now and will continue to be a prominent host and integral part of the Fox News lineup.”
But will Ingraham be hosting a show at 10 p.m.?
Since Tucker Carlson was dumped, the network’s ratings have been in a free-fall. The benefactor seems to be Newsmax, where ratings are up by 200 percent. And twice this week Newsmax beat CNN in primetime.
Stay tuned, good readers!
