Elie Mystal, the justice correspondent for The Nation, wants the Constitution to be ripped up in favor of a new “more inclusive” document.
The author of “Allow Me to Retort: A Black Guy’s Guide to the Constitution” made the argument on Pix 11 in favor of LGBTQ, abortion, and voting rights.
“If we could throw that out and start over with a new document that was more inclusive of everybody that was written by everybody — at no point have black people, brown people, women have a say in actually writing the Constitution or the Amendments to that Constitution,” Mystal claimed.

“We can throw that out and have a delegation of all Americans to write a new one,” he added. “I would be all for that.”
He said South Africa “started over” with a new Constitution after apartheid.
Imani Gandy, the senior editor of law and policy for Rewire News Group, tweeted that she was inspired by Mystal’s book to “hate” the Constitution.
