NEWSMAX: Former President Donald Trump slammed Fox News for rehiring the person who orchestrated the network’s early call of Arizona in the 2020 presidential election.
Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott told The Hollywood Reporter last week that Decision Desk Director Arnon Mishkin will be rehired to oversee election coverage for the 2022 midterms and 2024 elections. [Read Newsmax’s report on Fox re-hiring of Mishkin – click here.]
“I think it’s terrible they hired him back,” Trump told Newsmax’s John Bachman before addressing an announced record crowd at Saturday night’s rally at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines. “He made a terrible call. It was a terrible thing to do.
“When you look at the numbers that came out in the findings from the report … when you look at those numbers, we won Arizona by a lot. We won other states by a lot. It was a rigged election. I think that it’s a disgrace that they hired him back. But that’s the way it is, not like it used to be.”
Fox drew outrage from its viewers when it called Arizona just minutes after polls closed on election night 2020, while still failing to call Florida for Trump, even though voting had closed almost two hours earlier.
Mishkin is a longtime Democrat operative who backed Hillary Clinton in 2016 and donated to Barack Obama’s presidential campaign.
The Associated Press reported that a Republican-backed review of the 2020 presidential election in Arizona’s largest county, Maricopa County, came up with a vote tally that would not have altered the outcome.
Trump issued statements claiming the review found widespread fraud. He urged Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich, a Republican vying for his party’s U.S. Senate nomination, to open an investigation. Read the full story at Newsmax.
