Sen. Roger Wicker (R-MS) said on Fox News Channel that the United States would not rule out using nuclear weapons against the Russians.
“We don’t rule out first-use nuclear action,” said Wicker, the number two-ranking member on the Senate Armed Services Committee.
“Military action could mean that we stand off with our ships in the Black Sea and we rain destruction on Russian military capability,” he said. “I would not rule that out. I would not rule out American troops on the ground.”
To casually suggest that we’re ready to nuke the Russians is an absolutely stunning and foolish thing for any elected leader to say – whether it’s true or not.
