DEVELOPING STORY: Explosions have been heard in Ukraine’s capital city just moments after Russian President Vladimir Putin declared war between the two countries.

CNN and Fox News reporters in Kyiv both reported on the explosions. Correspondent Matthew Chance was in the middle of a live shot when he was interrupted by blasts in the distance.
“I’ve made the decision to conduct a special military operation,” Putin said. “Our analysis has concluded that our confrontation with these [Ukrainian] forces in inevitable.”
