A 77-year-old public school nurse was suspended from Hartford Public Schools in Connecticut for revealing that students were on puberty blockers and teachers were hiding it from their parents.

The school nurse, Kathleen Cataford, was suspended from her job at the Richard J Kinsella Magnet School for a Facebook post exposing the school’s actions, the DailyMail reports.
“Investigate the school system curriculum…CT is a very socially liberal, gender confused state. As a public school nurse, I have an 11yo female student on puberty blockers and a dozen identifying as non-binary, all but two keeping this as a secret from their parents with the help of teachers, SSW [social workers] and school administration,” Cataford wrote.
“Teachers and SSW are spending 37.5 hours a week influencing our children, not necessarily teaching our children what YOU think is being taught,” she added.
Dr. Leslie Torres-Rodriguez, the Hartford County Public Schools superintendent, sent a letter to parents, condemning Kathleen’s post.
“With deep regret, we write to inform you that a school nurse made inappropriate comments regarding Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Questioning (LGBTQ+) Hartford Public Schools (HPS) students on social media.”
“Hartford Public Schools strives to provide an inclusive environment where all students feel seen, valued, respected, and heard,” the letter continued. “We as a school district are responsible for the health, well-being, social and emotional development, and safety of ALL of the children entrusted to our care.”

According to The Daily Mail, the school district is currently investigating Kathleen Cataford on whether or not she can continue to work at the school.
