A popular TikTok star with over 1.5 million followers on the Chinese app came out against Candace Owens after she made a video “shaming fat people.”
In the video, TikTok superstar Samyra Miller criticized Owens: “I feel sorry for anyone who is in a relentless pursuit of proximity to whiteness.”

“Fatphobia is real. Discrimination based on weight is real. It should be illegal, and it should be criminalized, and Candace Owens is just one example. Fatphobia permeates every single structure of our society,” Miller continued in her response.
All the controversy about being “fat-positive” started after recent trends show “plus-size influencers” encouraging their weight, including celebrities such as Lizzo.

Owens’ response was to another video posted by Miller, in which thousands of people commented on the fact that she asked for a seatbelt extender.
“You don’t deserve to fly,” one comment on the video stated.
“It does seem to me that if you are a skinny person, you have to pay $50+ dollars for your baggage is over one pound, but if you’re a fat person weighing 400 pounds, you’re given more from the airline, like the belt extender,” Owens commented on the video.
