March Madness Crowd Boos Kamala Harris

Vice President Kamala Harris was showered with boos while attending an NCAA Tournament game Thursday. Her alma mater Howard University was blown out in a first-round game of March Madness.

When the veep was shown on video board during the men’s basketball game, the boo’s were louder than the applause inside Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa, the Associated Press reported.

After the loss, Harris met with the team in their locker room and delivered a cringe-inducing speech as if they were first-graders. Watch below.

“So good,” she said in a sing-song voice. “You guys are so good. You played hard. You played to the very last second. You made all of us Bison so, so proud. You hustled out there. You are smart. You are disciplined. You put everything you had into the game. And that’s what it’s about right? Until the last minute. You guys did that.”

Harris said she was inspired by their loss.

“You keep playing with chin up and shoulders back because you showed the world who Bison are. Right? Literally, what you have done is in historic proportion.”

As one observer noted on Twitter, “I’d rather be waterboarded.”
