Alex Murashko: God Is Blessing the People’s Convoy Truckers
Organizers of The People’s Convoy are incessantly being asked (not just by media) to explain their cause.
No matter how they answer the question, “What happens at the end of your ride?” the best answer they give always seems to be the right one: “This is a journey.”
It could be argued that the convoy, which began in Adelanto, California, on Wednesday (Feb. 23, 2022) and is headed east, scheduled to arrive in the DC Beltway area on Saturday (March 5, 2022) is an anointed journey.
From the beginning, it has been evident by many that God is blessing this convoy. Composed of truckers of all types and people of all types who are in RVs, SUVs, cars, and motorcycles, God is pushing this mega caravan down the road. As it continues to grow exponentially every day, His power is on display, perhaps, like no other movement.
Truckloads of supplies and provisions for the journey were delivered into the staging area at Adelanto Stadium on the day before the launch. Children handed gifts and personal letters of appreciation directly into the hands of truck drivers.
For we walk by faith, not by sight. — 2 Corinthians 5:7
The Apostle Paul spoke of “not losing heart” as he continued in the work of the ministry. Paul had repeatedly been imprisoned, beaten, shipwrecked, stoned, and various other afflictions. Yet, instead of simply giving up or saying it’s not worth it he persevered.
Paul had a plan to visit the church in Corinth, traveling to Macedonia and back twice, but plans changed. Many people criticized his change of mind and considered him unworthy.
Paul had seen a glimpse of heaven. It impacted him so intensely that the thought of going there someday kept his mind focused on his eternal home, not on his suffering.
For The People’s Convoy, plans have changed as operations this size do and people have criticized the effort for many, sometimes ill-willed reasons. The Freedom Convoy in Canada captured worldwide attention, mainly because of a government crackdown that included hellish tactics.
As of the time of publication of this column, the US convoy remains largely dismissed… at least for now.
Participants and supporters of The People’s Convoy may not have specifically “seen a glimpse of heaven,” but they have witnessed a country once full of hope and freedom. They have persevered with an oppressive government issuing mandate after mandate with no apparent success after each implementation.
Yes, many place their hope in the America they once knew. However, many know that the journey will only be anointed and successful if it is God’s will for this country.
If nothing else, it may mean that success in God’s eyes was fulfilled by following Jesus.
If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. – 2 Chronicles 7:14
Be encouraged by eyewitness accounts of God’s movement within and surrounding The People’s Convoy. Pray for discernment. Walk and drive by faith in Jesus. Keep seeking Him and you will find truth and hope all around us.
