NASCAR executives may be getting a lump of coal in their Christmas stockings.
Instead of wishing racing fans a “Merry Christmas,” NASCAR posted a tweet wishing people “Happy Holidays.” You can see the tweet below.
“To all those celebrating this month, we wish you a safe and joyous holiday season,” NASCAR wrote.
To all those celebrating? Oh, you mean the Christians? Your fan base?
As we all know “Happy Holidays” is code meaning “We Celebrate Every Holiday but the Christian Holidays.”
And the racing giant’s generic and politically correct holiday messaging did not set well with many racing enthusiasts — most of whom celebrate the Reason for the Season.
“I think what you meant to say was ‘Merry CHRISTmas,'” one fan wrote.
“Merry Christmas to all my NASCAR Libs who manage this account,” another Twitter user wrote.
Earlier this year NASCAR embraced the LGBT movement with a full-blown endorsement during Pride Month.
“As we celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, we acknowledge that recent actions have not aligned with NASCAR’s mission to be a welcoming sport for all. We remain steadfast in our commitment to create a more inclusive environment — in our workplaces, at the race track & in the stands,” NASCAR wrote.
So if NASCAR can celebrate Pride Month by name and specifically explain what that woke season is about, why can’t they celebrate Christmas by name as the reason for this happy holiday?
NASCAR fans are a pretty tolerant and accepting bunch of folks. But if they keep pushing away their base, fans may very well tell NASCAR to blow it out their tailpipe.
