Hello Americans, I’m Todd Starnes. Stand by for news and commentary next.
Bad news for connoisseurs of fried chicken and biscuits in Portland, Oregon.
Cracker Barrel just announced they are closing all of their restaurants in that part of the country. More than 300 workers heading to the unemployment line.
Portland – a once beautiful and vibrant city – has been turned into a desolate, crime-infested wasteland. Progressive Democrats have allowed anarchists to pretty much control the streets — basically modern-day war lords.
Cracker Barrel blamed the closures on the China virus.
But I’m not so sure about that.
Walmart recently announced they, too, were closing all of their Portland-area stores. And they blamed the closings on crime.
Walmart CEO Doug McMillon said that record-breaking retail theft was hurting the company’s bottom line.
Small companies too – facing closures. Rains PDX shut down after more than 15 break-ins over the past year.
“Those break-ins are not covered by insurance, because insurance drops you,” owner Marcy Landolfo said on NewsNation’s “Prime.” “So it’s, it’s a double-edged sword of what’s happening, and you just have to decide when you’ve had enough.”
“My final straw really was thinking about my employees’ safety,” Landolfo said. “During all of this, you know, you’re focusing on the 15 break-ins I’ve had after hours. But I’ve had countless other very dangerous interactions.”
My recommendation to the good people of Portland is to order a cast iron skillet. It’s the only proper way to fry chicken. And it’s also useful in fighting off the anarchists.
