Mr. Higinbotham’s workshop is located in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, not the North Pole.
But he’s been churning out hundreds and hundreds of wooden toys for the past year – trucks, horses, tractors, even fire trucks.
It started out years ago as a hobby – but for the past three years it’s become something of a mission – to make sure every child in the community has a special handmade toy for Christmas.
That’s a mighty big feat, especially for a toymaker who just turned 93 years old.
Instead of a sleigh and eight tiny reindeer – he delivers the toys with a little help from the Uniontown State Police.
Mr. Higinbotham tells television station WLKY that he likes making people happy and if that makes him Santa Claus – then call him Kris Kringle.
