STARNES: [00:40:20] Congressman. A couple of stories that we’ve been following and you’ve been making some headlines. And I want to talk about this National Defense Authorization Act. And you have some big concerns with this. And you explain in a tweet pretty clearly why you voted against the 2023 NDAA. [00:40:41][21.4]

BIGGS: [00:40:44] Yeah. Todd, I mean, to begin with, we’re talking $850 billion in a bill that there were over 1200 amendments offered. The Democrats allowed 650 amendments to be debated. And of those most of those came on because they were Democrat amendments. And you have everything from Wokeness and the LGBTQ movement. You’ve got equity issues that are going. And so well, what you have here is the left-wing basically taking over the military and so you’re not advancing military readiness, which is really what the bill is supposed to do. You got you’re not doing anything for the tens of thousands of military personnel who are being forced out because they won’t get a vaccine. And basically they admitted that. So, now you’re going to have a dishonorable discharge. So there’s a whole lot of bad stuff in there. And the one good thing they had, though, was a pay raise for the men and women in the military at 4.9%, which is good, but it is nothing when you compare it to the real 18% or so inflation rate that we have. STARNES: [00:42:10] Congressman, let’s talk about some of this radical woke ideology that you say is in this NDAA. What are some of the things we’re talking about here? [00:42:18][7.7]
STARNES: What Is Kamala Sniffing or Smoking?
BIGGS: [00:42:20] You have the I can’t remember the actual name…It’s like a gender awareness workforce. And so that’s going around and that’s going to be out there doing that. So you’re going to continue to have these kind of CRT training going on in the military, you know, where these probably show the video of the Navy having that how to teaching, how to use the proper pronouns instead of saying, hey, guys, you say, hey, them, you did it. Who knows? But it’s absurd. So those are some of the things that you have going on here, and then we’re going to spread it around the world, believe it or not. And we’re going to also report on and relate to what’s going on around the world. And they’re going to continue to have abortions for military personnel regardless of the Dobbs decision. So is this is the left wing taking over the military and that’s what’s going on. [00:43:28][67.7]
STARNES: [00:43:29] Were you surprised at the number of Republicans who joined Democrats in approving this? [00:43:33][4.8]
STARNES: Biden’s America Is No Longer Superpower
BIGGS: [00:43:36] No, no, that never surprises me anymore, Todd. I wish I could say it did. I mean, I get what they’re saying. They’re saying, well, you know, it provided a pay raise, not a very big pay raise, but a pay raise. And then they would all say and this brings back stuff to my district. That’s really what they say. This brings back stuff to my district. And so so we have to do it. And I’m thinking to myself, you know, the NDAA is a must pass piece of legislation. We all want to fund the military. We all want to make sure we have the right kind of equipment and materials necessary to defend this country, project power, so that you have world peace. But this notion that you spend $850 billion and we’ve never even had an audit of the Pentagon, the Department of Defense, that tells you a little bit of something. Tells you a little bit something. STARNES: [00:44:28] It’s it’s sad because we see this all the time. And nobody ever stands up except for a few. And most of those folks are on the House Freedom Caucus to say, wait a second, what are we doing here? And it frustrates me because, again, Republicans and I know this, you know, and I am a Republican, I donate to, I’ve donated money to Republican candidates and they mess with us every single time. They and if we can’t agree on fiscal responsibility, I really don’t know what the point of being a Republican is. [00:44:59][30.9]
