DEVELOPING: Josselyn Berry, the press secretary for Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs (D), resigned Wednesday, Fox News reports.
It’s “open season on Christians in America,” national radio host Todd Starnes said in reaction to a “vile” tweet from the spokesperson for Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs (D).
Hobbs’ press secretary Josselyn Berry tweeted out a threat against “transphobes” the day after shooter Audrey Hale, who identifies as transgender, killed six people at a private Christian school in Nashville.
“Us when we see transphobes,” Berry tweeted before making her account private.
The tweet included a GIF from the 1980 movie, “Gloria,” showing a woman holding up two handguns.
Kari Lake, former Arizona gubernatorial candidate, took Hobbs’ team and the media to task for the tweet.

“If a conservative made light of a mass shooting & called for more violence, they’d be personally & professionally destroyed,” Lake said. “But a member of Katie Hobbs’ staff did just that & the media is silent.”
She added, “We don’t partake in cancel culture – but the media’s bias has never been clearer.”
“Less than 12 hours after the tragic shooting in Nashville by a deranged transgender activist [Hobbs’] Press Secretary calls for shooting people Democrats disagree with,” the Arizona Freedom Caucus tweeted on Tuesday.
Many online called for Berry to be fired.
“In a just world this woman would be out of a job by the end of today,” Megyn Kelly tweeted.
