President Biden was pressed about the border crisis in a televised interview Friday, but he claimed his administration has “gotten control.”
NBC’s Craig Melvin pointed out that in April, 170,000 illegal immigrants came to the border, a 20-year-record, and that 22,000 unaccompanied children are in the U.S.
“It’s way down now, we’ve not gotten control,” Biden responded.
Biden blamed the Trump administration for the situation.
And when asked about his campaign pledge to reunite hundreds of children separate from their parents, Melvin said, “According to our reporting, not one child’s been reuinted. How is that?”
Biden responded: “I don’t think that’s true, but that could be.”
