The first day of any President in the office is important. It acts as a first impression that could determine the outlook of your administration.
With just one order, Joe Biden did not make a good first impression for at least 70,000 Americans. How so? He revoked the permit for the Keystone XL pipeline.
According to Breitbart, Biden destroyed “11,000 direct jobs that the pipeline’s construction was to have created” and near “60,000 indirect jobs in secondary, related industries.”
Breit Bart also said that over 1,000 workers were already on the job but then were let go due to the order.
Senator Ted Cruz of Texas simply asked the Secretary of Transportation nominee Pete Buttigieg why were they killing the project that is causing the loss of “good, paying union jobs”?
Buttigeig responded saying that jobs “in more climate-friendly industries would be positive”.
Senator Cruz then commented, “[s]o for those workers, the answer is somebody else will get a job?”
The Biden Administration also canceled the construction of the border wall between Mexico and the U.S. which got rid of several jobs as well.
One of the Biden Administration’s goals, once in office, was to boost the economy. However, it’s not looking great just based on their first day.
