President Biden’s approval rating dropped to his lowest since taking office, according to a Gallup poll released Wednesday.
A majority of Americans, 53 percent, disapprove of the Democrat leader. Biden plunged to 43 percent approval after his failed Afghanistan withdrawal and controversial vaccine mandates.
Independents, who once gave him 61 percent approval, are now at 37 percent in the new poll.
Ninety percent of Democrats approve of Biden’s job so far, down from 98 percent in February, while six percent of Republicans approve.
Vice President Kamala Harris received 49 percent approval and 49 percent disapproval.
The Gallup poll was conducted between Sept. 1 and Sept. 17 with a margin for error of plus or minus four percentage points.
