A White House press reporter noted that inflation is up, Democrats’ legislation is stalled, voting reform is going to fail, COVID is still taking lives, and the nation is just as divided as it was last year.
“Did you overpromise to the American public what you could achieve in your first year in office and how do you plan to course correct going forward?” a White House press reporter asked.
“Why are you such an optimist?” Biden said, before answering, “Look, I didn’t over-promise. What I have — probably outperformed what anyone thought would happen.”
The president was lambasted for his reponse on Twitter.
