If you want to celebrate the Fourth of July, President Biden wants every teenager to get the coronavirus vaccine before shooting off fireworks.
The theme of being able to gather in “small groups” has been brought up now a couple of times under the Biden Administration.
In his public address in early March, he said that if the country didn’t let up on his advised precautions they could gather with their loved ones for Independence Day:
This topic came up again this week as he spoke to the American people about the progress on vaccinations this year. With roughly half of American adults vaccinated, Biden still doesn’t want people to stop wearing masks or go back to normal life.
“To celebrate our independence from this virus on July 4th with family and friends in small groups, we still have more to do in the months of May and June,” Biden said on Wednesday. “We all need to mask up until the number of cases goes down, until everyone has a chance to get their shot.”
But it’s not just adults that Biden wants vaccinated. He wants everyone that is 16 years or older to get the vaccine as well.
“To Americans 16 years and older, it’s your turn now. Now,” the president said. “So go get your vaccine before the end of May.”
Ironically, studies are popping up as women are reporting changes in their periods after taking the dose. While researchers are studying the possible side effects, it seems unwise to force teenagers to take it with ever-changing hormones.
It’s fantastic that the vaccine is so widely available across the United States. However, forcing people to get it so life can go back to normal is an infringement on citizens’ rights.
