A San Francisco restaurant owner says he will refuse to serve anyone wearing a “Make America Great Again” baseball cap.
“It hasn’t happened yet, but if you come to my restaurant wearing a MAGA cap, you aren’t getting served, same as if you come in wearing a swastika, white hood, or any other symbol of intolerance and hate,” J. Kenji Lopez-Alt wrote on his Twitter account.
Lopez-Alt is the chef-partner of Wursthall in San Mateo. He is also an award-winning cookbook author.

“MAGA hats are like white hoods except stupider because you can see exactly who is wearing them,” he wrote in a separate tweet on his now-deleted Twitter account.
The San Francisco Chronicle reports that some diners disagreed with the chef’s decision.
“I see where he’s coming from, but I don’t think you should just keep people out because of a hat,” Jamie Hwang told the newspaper.. “I get that idea, that maybe that hat could mean the person wearing it is just looking for a fight, but just cutting off dialogue, not giving a chance to get to know someone — I just don’t know if that’s something I would do.”
Now, I’m a firm believer that a private business has the right to refuse service. However, the leftists feel otherwise. Just ask the wedding planners and photographers and bakers who have faced a barrage of legal complaints after they declined to participate in same-sex wedding ceremonies.
So under the moral code of the Left, if the bakers have to bake the cake, the chefs have to serve the food.
That being said, I would avoid eating at Wursthall. I’ve heard the food is not that bad, but the bigotry will give you a bad case indigestion.
