Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) told the Todd Starnes Show Wednesday President Biden needs to resign for the “betrayal” of U.S. troops.

Host Todd Starnes asked if she, along with some of her GOP colleagues, thinks Biden should step down.

“Yes, absolutely,” Blackburn said. “The betrayal of the trust of the men and women in uniform. The way he has conducted himself. Our allies are all upset with us.”

She added: “I think that the president, the vice president, Secretary [of State Antony] Blinken over at State, Secretary [Lloyd] Austin at DoD, and General [Mark] Milley all should all be relieved of their position.”

Blackburn was one of many Republican senators that grilled Milley Tuesday on Capitol Hill over Biden’s Afghanistan withdrawal that left 13 service members killed in a suicide bombing, 10 Afghan civilians killed by a U.S. drone strike, and an untold number of Americans stranded in the Taliban-controlled country.

“We need to find out why Joe Biden and his advisors…didn’t take the advice of the commanders on the field,” Blackburn said, questioning if Biden was too eager to take a victory lap for September 11th and work with the Taliban.

The generals on Tuesday said they advised Biden to keep troops in Afghanistan, contrary to what Biden told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos his military advisors did not recommend leaving troops behind, adding “that I can recall.”

“More questions really arose during the day than we got answers for,” Blackburn said. “The worst of the worst happened and now they’re trying to clean it up.”

Starnes concluded that Biden or the generals either lied to the American people, or, another possibility, the president has cognitive decline.
