Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), who voted to impeach former President Trump, announced Friday he is not running for reelection in 2022.
“I also remember during that campaign saying that if I ever thought it was time to move on from Congress, I would, and that time is now,” Kinzinger said.
Kinzinger sits on the Jan. 6 House select committee and said this is not the end of his political career.

“I stand in awe at the courage of the other nine members in the House who voted to impeach a president of their own party knowing that it could be detrimental to their political career,” he said.
The congressman is next to Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) in his anti-Trump rhetoric and actions. Kinzinger is pushing his political action committee, Country First, which he started in January to move the GOP away from Trump, The Hill reports.
