Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell won re-election Wednesday as Senate GOP leader, Fox News reports.
Sen. Rick Scott, who is the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, announced his challenge against McConnell Tuesday.

“I think the outcome is pretty clear. I have the votes. I will be elected. The only issues is whether we do it sooner or later,” McConnell told reporters on the Hill after Scott’s challenge.
McConnell’s confidence turned out to be accurate, setting him up to be the longest-serving party leader in Senate history, according to Fox.

National radio host Todd Starnes weighed in on McConnell’s win on Twitter.
