New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) resigned Tuesday after sexual harassment allegations.
Cuomo said he will be leaving in 14 days, following the state’s attorney general releasing the results of an investigation that found Cuomo sexually harassed at least 11 women.
“Given the circumstances, the best way I can help now is if I step aside and let government get back to governing,” Cuomo said.
The three-term governor allegedly subjected women to unwanted kissing, groped their breasts and buttocks, or touched them inappropriately. Investigators also said he made remarks about their looks and sex lives, and created a work environment “rife with fear and intimidation.”
Despite him being praised by the Left for his handling of COVID, Democrat leaders all the way up to President Biden called for his resignation is recent days.
Cuomo still faces the possibility of criminal charges.
Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul, a 62-year-old Democrat and former member of Congress from the Buffalo area, will become the state’s 57th governor and the first woman to hold the post.
