House Speaker Nancy Pelosi rejected two of the five Republicans picked to sit on the newly-formed Jan. 6 select committee.
Pelosi was immediately slammed Wednesday after announcing she won’t appoint Reps. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Jim Banks (R-IN) to the committee.
“It doesn’t surprise me. Nancy Pelosi is a dictator,” Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC) told the Todd Starnes Show Wednesday, calling the committee a “dog and pony show.”
“This is nothing more than a rehash of trying to get Donald Trump…She doesn’t want the truth,” Norman said, adding that Pelosi and the Democrats are worried about the midterm elections.
House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy threatened a Republican boycott if Pelosi doesn’t reverse course.
“Unless Speaker Pelosi reverses course and seats all five Republican nominees, Republicans will not be party to their sham process and will instead pursue our own investigation of the facts,” McCarthy said in a statement.
“Speaker Pelosi just admitted the obvious, that the January 6th Select Committee is nothing more than a partisan political charade,” Jordan said in response to being rejected.
