Since January, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) has been publicly criticizing former President Trump and his supporters. She also led a small band of renegade Republicans to impeach the former president.
But now President Trump is fighting back — and he’s punching back hard.
“This warmongering fool wants to stay in the Middle East and Afghanistan for another 19 years, but doesn’t consider the big picture—Russia and China,” Trump said in a statement.
He also blasted her low polling numbers in Wyoming.
“Liz Cheney is polling sooo low in Wyoming, and has sooo little support, even from the Wyoming Republican Party, that she is looking for a way out of her Congressional race,” Trump said.
Trump pollster John McLaughlin showed Cheney down 54-21 in a hypothetical head-to-head matchup with Republican Anthony Bouchard in a Wyoming Republican primary. Bouchard announced his candidacy soon after Cheney voted to impeach the former president.
Based on all polling, there is no way she can win. She’ll either be yet another lobbyist or maybe embarrass her family by running for President, in order to save face,” he said.
