Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts gave former President Trump a legal victory Tuesday.
Roberts granted a stay, temporarily blocking the Internal Revenue Service from having to turn over Trump’s tax records to House Democrats.

“Upon consideration of the application of counsel for the applicants, it is so ordered that the mandate of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, case No. 21-5289, is hereby stayed pending further order of the undersigned or of the court,” Roberts’ order stated.
Roberts asked for a response by Nov. 10.

Trump’s legal team filed for a stay Monday asking the court to block the release six years of his tax records from the House Ways and Means Committee, which first requested them in 2019.
