My email has been filled with messages from Southern Baptist pastors who are outraged over Christianity Today’s call for President Trump to be removed from office.
Many of the pastors are concerned about the creeping infestation of woke liberalism and the social justice movement in the evangelical community.
Dr. Jack Graham, pastor of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Texas, and Dr. Robert Jeffress, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Dallas, were recent guests on the Todd Starnes Radio Show.
Both pastors condemned, in the strongest words, Christianity Today’s attack on the president.
“Christianity Today is now Christianity Astray,” Pastor Graham said on my radio show. “(The magazine) moved left, left, left over the years and is barely recognizable. The magazine that Billy Graham founded 60 years ago is barely recognizable as the evangelical representative of conservative theology and Biblical truth.”
Pastor Jeffress said the editorial was a partisan hit piece written by a “nincompoop.”
“Christianity Today is a dying magazine that has been an ardent Never Trump magazine since the beginning,” Jeffress said.
Graham commended President Trump for delivering on a long list of promises he made to conservative Christians – on pro-life issues, pro-family issues, addressing the activist courts and defending religious liberty.
“He has come through big time for Christians,” Graham said. “We are so grateful that in the providence of God He placed in office Donald Trump and we are seeing amazing results from this presidency and this president.”
