A Missouri police chief and all his officers abruptly resigned, citing pay and not being equipped to do the job.

Kimberling City Police Chief Craig Alexander put in his resignation Aug. 23 and was joined by three officers and a sergeant, putting the Stone County sheriff in charge.

“Until then, we will be answering all the calls in Kimberling City. We can’t enforce city ordinances, but any other calls we will be handling at this time,” Sheriff Doug Rader told KY3 News.
