Is the Biden administration targeting Christians?

When host Todd Starnes asked the “Encouragement From a Place Called Heaven” author about Christian persecution, he said it is coming to America through the government.

“In many ways, it’s already here,” Jeffress said. “The government is going to get an in-road into the church through regulations, and through the Internal Revenue Service.”

Jeffress pointed to a recent situation involving Christians Engaged as one example.

“Christians Engaged had their tax-exemption status denied after (the IRS) said ‘because you teach the inerrant word of God that people ought to uphold the sanctity of marriage and lie and so forth, that aligns with Republicans values and therefore disqualifies you for a tax-exempt status,’” said Jeffress. “Now, they pushed back and they got it instated, the tax-exempt status, but that tells you where this government is going.”

Jeffress later predicted “with some knowledge” that the IRS is going to apply that same standard to churches.

“They’re going to say ‘when you preach certain things or allow certain things to be said from your pulpit that is politics and therefore disqualifies you from tax-exempt status,’” said Jeffress. “That is being tested right now by the IRS. I have absolute impeccable inside sources that there is some test cases going on right now.”
