Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) backs Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) for sending illegal immigrants on buses to Washington, D.C., but he wants to take them beyond the Capitol.
“I suggested rather than just D.C. we ought to drop them off at Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket, at Cupertino, at the Hamptons and all the places that rich liberals go,” Cruz said on the Todd Starnes Show Thursday.
Host Todd Starnes also voiced his support for the relocation efforts.
“I say keep sending the buses eastbound and down as the great country music song says, but turn some of those around and head westbound over to Nancy Pelosi’s house,” said Starnes. “I think the American people appreciate that, but more importantly, it’s got to be refreshing for the good people of Teas who are suffering because of this massive onslaught at the border.”
Cruz, who the Stop the SURGE Act, said the Biden administration is not enforcing border laws.
“They think there is political benefit in allowing over 2 million illegal immigrants to come in just last year,” said Cruz. “I’m very glad the state of Texas is fighting back and putting hundreds and soon to be thousands of illegal aliens on buses to Washington, D.C. is exactly the right thing to do.”
In 2021, Cruz introduced legislation to send illegal immigrants to relocate illegal immigrants from south Texas to newly established ports of entry for processing under the Immigrant & Naturalization Act (Title 8) and Public Health Service Act.
