President Biden and the Democrats are now pushing to pack the Supreme Court with new legislation. Ironically, President Biden avoided this topic during the 2020 presidential election, but he’s talked about how bad of an idea this is during the course of his political career.
He’s been extremely critical of people in the past that have been supportive of the idea. He was openly opposed when FDR tried this very tactic decades ago:
Let’s fast forward to 2020, when Biden again said he “wasn’t a fan” of packing the Supreme Court. Other than that, he’s dodged the question completely:
The number of Supreme Court justices has been nine since 1869, but that could change again if the Democrats have something to say about it.
