DeSantis defeated his Democrat opponent Charlie Crist.

DeSantis became a national staple of the conservative movement for resisting tyrannical restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic, concerning masking and vaccines.
Additionally, DeSantis gained more attention this summer for flying illegal immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts in an attempt to show liberal elites the harsh realities faced by border states due to open border policies.

The Florida governor has also been on the front lines of the culture war.
Speculation has grown over whether DeSantis will run for president in 2024, potentially facing former President Donald Trump in a future primary.

Fox is also reporting that Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) will win reelection to represent Florida in the Senate.
Rubio swiftly defeated his opponent Rep. Val Demings (R-FL).
