The church cannot remain neutral as Democrats attack the “freedom of the citizens,” Father Frank Pavone said on the Todd Starnes Show Wednesday.

Is it okay for church leaders to get political?

The national director of Priests for Life said he tells his followers that the attacks against former President Trump are meant to scare his followers.

“They’re coming after him because they’re coming after all of us,” Pavone told host Todd Starnes. “What we stand for, the values we hold, whether it’s pro-life, freedom, the right of parents to educate their children, all the various issues they, the radical Left are coming after us.”

That is the reason churches cannot remain neutral anymore, the Catholic leader argued.

“I mean, you can make a case that churches should be neutral when it comes to policy differences that people of goodwill could equally hold or disagree on, but not when it comes to violations of principle,” he explained. “There is no room for neutrality when you have a party that is attacking the freedom of the citizens, the security of the nation, or weaponizing the structures of government.”
