Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) said on the Todd Starnes Radio Show that Sen. Mitt Romney’s judgment has been clouded by his disgust for President Trump.
“He’s being guided by absolute disgust and disdain for the president,” Gohmert said. “You have got to be able to put hate or disgust or disdain aside and do the right thing. And it just doesn’t look like Mitt is able to do that.”
Romney (R-UT) has been leading the call among Republicans to call witnesses in the president’s impeachment trial. Fox News reports that Majority Leader Mitch McConnell does not have the votes to stop that from happening.
“He is so colored with disgust for Donald Trump that he can’t look at what’s really in front of him,” Gohmert told Starnes. “That’s very, very unfortunate.”
