GOP Rep: FBI Is ‘Enforcement Arm of the Democrat Party’
The FBI is trying to fix elections for Democrats and go after Republicans, a congressman said on the “Todd Starnes Show” Tuesday.
The FBI filed its response late Tuesday to former President Trump’s request for a “special master” in the Mar-a-Lago raid.
“Do you trust the FBI?” national radio host Todd Starnes asked Rep. Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA).
“No. Not at all,” he replied.
“The FBI has been corrupt from its very founding under J. Edgar Hoover. They worked in tandem with LBJ and other elected officials to get dirt on politicians so that their selected senator or congressman could move up the race. They did surveillance on political figures,” Reschenthaler said, “and that hasn’t changed.”
The Pennsylvania representative said the FBI interfered in the 2020 presidential election when an agent approached Facebook’s top boss, Mark Zuckerberg, claiming the Hunter Biden laptop story was Russian disinformation, despite the agency having possession of it.
“That shows you that they were trying to interfere with the 2020 election,” he said, adding that the FBI has been targeting Trump before he even took office.
“So, I think the FBI needs to be reined in, much like we had to rein in the CIA back in the 70s when they were running around assassinating foreign leaders. Definitely need more oversight, but we need to look at, perhaps, dividing the FBI into where there’s silos or maybe functions, and we just don’t have this big … agency that is trying to fix political elections, go after political opponents, and really be the enforcement arm of the Democrat party,” Reschenthaler said.
Starnes asked Reschenthaler if there was any recourse for the election if it was robbed from Trump.
“The only recourse is us retaking the White House with President Trump in 2024, which I’m all in favor of,” he said. “That’s how we solve it.”
