Vice President Kamala Harris (D) was asked a simple question about the Democratic presidential ticket for 2024 Thursday but her answer raises more questions.
Instead of a straight yes or no, Harris paused and blinked several times before she refused to confirm whether or not President Biden will run for reelection.
“I’m sorry, we are thinking about today,” she told TODAY’s Craig Melvin. “I mean, honestly, I know why you’re asking the question because this is part of the punditry and the gossip around places like Washington, D.C. Let me just tell you something. We’re focused on the things in front of us.”
Melvin followed up, asking if she had read an article about a Biden-Liz Cheney ticket in 2024.
“I did not. No, I did not,” Harris responded, “and I really could care less about the high-class gossip on these issues.”
There have been reports about Biden replacing Harris if he runs again as Melvin pointed out, as well as talk of Democrats picking Hillary Clinton or Michelle Obama to be the top of the ticket.
