Hemingway: GOP Needs to Accept Trump as the Eventual Nominee

If the Republican Party wants to win in 2024, it needs to get behind former President Trump, The Federalist editor-in-chief Mollie Hemingway told Fox News.

“If the Republican Party wants to win, one of the basic truisms of politics is that you want a unified party,” Hemingway told “Special Report” Monday.

“So dealing with the reality that I would say it’s probably a 95 percent chance or better that Trump will be the nominee, the Republican Party should probably start thinking about whether they actually want to win in 2024 with that reality of who the nominee will be.”

The Fox News contributor also argued President Biden will not have the advantages he had in 2020 because he has a record now and the media will not be able to suppress stories like it did before he was elected.

According to recent polls from early primary states, former President Trump is leading his primary opponents, by in some instances 30, 40, and even 50 points.
